Climbing at Väggen 25/9
Beer orienteering was a hoot and we are overjoyed that so many showed up, whether to participate
or cheer us on. It is only the first of many fun events to roll out from our sports committee. Next
event – something entirely different, takes us to Lund’s local climbing club SKK to scale walls. Though
not for the acrophobic, everyone else will have a blast regardless of past experience
The entire venue is booked and it will be ours all for all of an hour. The group will
divide in two and for each a climbing instructor will help us to, quite literally, learn the ropes. Not
only rope climbing will be taught. Opportunity for bouldering, (climbing short distances without
safety ropes), will also be given. You don’t need any special equipment to participate. Special
climbing shoes are used but can be borrowed for free. Relaxed clothing or even training wear is
recommended as you might elsewise be constrained while climbing on the wall.

The event is limited to students at Wermlands nation and spots are acquired at a first come,
first serve basis. There are 20 spots all in all. To sign up for the event simply send an email to
idrottsutskottet@wermlandsnation.se with your name and phone number. You can also forward any
questions you might have about the event thereto.
Indoor football: Nationserien
This fall seven of Lund’s student nations will duke it out in a football tournament to crown the city’s best footballing nation. Wermlands is entering a team of our own and is looking for nine players to fill out the roster. The league pits our team against every other nation once for a total of six matches and will commence next week on Wednesday 21st. The league will continue until September 9 and will be played exclusively on Wednesdays at between 20.00 and 22.00. In addition, parallel to regular league play, the tournament will feature a separate cup with teams from all the different divisions.
To cover expenses there is a charge of 150kr that anyone who wants to join the team has to pay at the office of Wermlands nation. If you are interested in playing some indoor football and having a lot of fun while at the same time showing off your footballing chops, don’t hesitate to apply to the team at idrottsutskottet@wermlandsnation.se with name and phone number. Högtidsbangolf 8/10
Äntligen är det dags för terminens upplaga av Wermlands traditionella högtidsbangolf. Det hela går av stapeln den 8/10 och sammanfaller på så vis med Östgöta nations årliga bal Fest Filbyterium Lundense, vars eftersläpp vi landar på efter en runda bangolf följt av sittning på vår egen kära nation. Liksom i våras är bangolfen förlagd på förträffliga Kulladals bangolfklubb i Malmö.
För de oinvigda är högtidsbangolfen en tillställning där man klädd i frack eller balklänning träffas för att spela bangolf efter konstens alla regler. Vett och etikett är av största vikt och regelbrott straffas undantagslöst med pliktslag. Klädkoden är sedvanligt högtidsdräkt. Vi kommer att vara utomhus under bangolfen och således rekommenderas även varma ytterkläder samt, beroende på rådande väderlek, papaply.
Vi samlas 14.. på Lunds station och beger oss med tåg till Malmö. Väl där hoppar vi av vid Triangeln och tar buss nr. 7 till hållplats Per Albins hem. Givetvis går det utmärkt att ta sig till golfklubben av egen maskin. Det är dock viktigt att vara på plats senast 15..
Anmälan till högtidsbangolfen görs på Wermlands nations expedition och kostar ringa 280 pix. Då ingår bangolf, sittning, baleftersläpp samt åkpunsch och medaljsläp. Resekostnader får man emellertid själv stå för.
